• Rodrigo Bicalho, DVM, assistant professor of dairy production medicine at Cornell University, is the recipient of the 2013 Cattle Call grant from Zoetis.
With the $150,000 grant, Bicalho will evaluate ways to prevent retained placenta and ultimately improve overall uterine health in cattle.
窶｢ Merck Animal Health and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) presented Robert H. BonDurant, DVM, with the Mentor of the Year Award at the AABP annual conference.
The award honors an individual who has dedicated his or her career to educating, mentoring and advancing the careers of students in the field of bovine veterinary medicine. He is the seventh recipient of the award, which was instituted in 2007.
窶｢ The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania board of directors has selected six individuals to receive $1,000 Student Leader Scholarships, providing recognition, encouragement and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled in academic programs that support the dairy industry.
