I have a degree in agri-business and production agriculture.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I was born and raised on a dairy farm and have more than 30 years dedicated to working and supporting the dairy industry.

Owning and operating a 125-cow dairy has given me hands-on experience of understanding the agriculture industry. Over the years I have worked on a couple of 1,000-cow dairies to understand dairy herd management. I also worked 18 years for the Farm Service Agency as a program assistant and field reporter.

What territory will you cover?
My territory will be the Midwest and Pennsylvania.

What are your new responsibilities?
My main responsibility will be with major accounts to increase product awareness and drive sales to gain revenue.

What previous positions have you held?
After selling my dairy, I had the opportunity for the last 10 years to work for Animart Inc. in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Working with professional services has given me the knowledge and experience to work for Vets Plus.

Understanding the philosophy of the dairyman, serving dairy producers, animal care, management and the ability to communicate and develop relationships are key to being successful in this business. Understanding those processes allows me to work for a manufacturer, distributor and supplier who is directly involved with producers.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
Over the years that I have been working in the agricultural industry there have been individuals who have certainly made impact on my life. My father and mother impacted me by instilling a good work ethic in me.

A retired county executive director for Farm Service Agency, Robert L. Ray, and retired vet and nutritionist Dr. Burton Weirsema made a great impact by teaching me about the real world and how to properly treat people.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
As a team member for Vets Plus, I bring many years of experience, professionalism, integrity and knowledge to work with producers, distributors and suppliers. This, with product support and knowledge, will assure success for our clients.

Why did you choose this company?
I chose this company because of the knowledge, skill level and reputation the company has earned in the industry. Working with a manufacturer who is continually looking for new products and innovation, tells me the company will support the agriculture industry for many years to come.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In years to come, I feel through continuing my education I will continue to be a devoted and dedicated employee in the agriculture industry. PD
