VikingGenetics and Coopex Montbeliarde, two farmer owned A.I. cooperatives, have partnered to launch ProCROSS, a subsidiary equally owned by the companies with the goal to develop the brand and crossbreeding concept on a global scale.

Developed in the U.S. and Europe over the past decade, the companies decided to further strengthen their ties by gathering workforce, knowledge and experience with distributors around this innovative concept in the A.I. industry.

The brand “has been experienced in many countries by progressive dairy farmers focused on profit,” says Claus Fertin, vice board chairman. “In searching for efficiency, those producers are leaving no stone unturned.”

The combination of three unrelated and competitive dairy breeds – VikingRed, Montbéliarde and Holstein – has proven to be the most homogeneous and profitable cross in the dairy business, according to the companies.

“ProCROSS is the first crossbreeding program of its kind that allows the combination of high production, reproductive efficiency and health, ensuring a major financial return per cow,” says board Chairman Tristan Gaiffe.
