Poll: Mandated cash price gets a thumbs down

With legislation addressing this issue on the docket in Washington, D.C., Progressive Cattle asked readers where they stood on mandated cash price.

Just over half of the respondents indicated a mandate would take hamper producers' choices in marketing their cattle. Half of the remaining pollsters voted in favor of a cash price mandate, and the remainder chose the "undecided" response.  

Where do you stand on mandated cash price?

• A mandate would take away producers' ability to market their cattle as they choose: 51.2%

• A cash price mandate would ensure producers get a fair price for their cattle: 24.4%

• Undecided: 24.4%
