In a recent online poll, Progressive Cattleman asked, “How are your cattle watered during the summer months?”
Seven percent of readers said they use windmills to water their cattle. Twice as many readers, about 14 percent, said they use solar pumps or generators. Another 14 percent said they haul water to their cattle.
The majority (65 percent), however, said they rely on natural creeks, springs or ponds to water their cattle.
