Agri Beef, based in Boise, Idaho, is the owning company of True West Beef and has several feeding operations in both Idaho and Washington, in addition to another processing plant in Washington.

Company representatives announced their plans with Idaho Gov. Brad Little in a press conference Friday, July 31. Little is a cattle and sheep rancher, and heralded the facility as a welcomed resource for the region and the industry.

Agri Beef markets several high-end beef products including Wagyu beef through its Snake River Farms and Double R Ranch brands. A 1,200 head cow-calf operation is in Loomis, Washington.

The company was built by Bob Rebholtz Sr., who bought Snake River Cattle Feeders in American Falls, Idaho, in 1968 and expanded to several operations in the supply chain. Rebholtz Sr. was voted a member of the Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame in 2012, his son Robert Rebholtz Jr. is now CEO. 

True West Beef Executive Vice President Jay Theiler told the Times-News of Twin Falls that Agri Beef has majority ownership in the facility, with ranchers providing beef supply having an opportunity for equity shares. 

“We believe that this model can serve as a new way for beef processing to expand in the U.S. and meet consumer needs,” Theiler said.
