The oldest son of Progressive Cattle columnist Paul Marchant, Tyrell Marchant grew up on a commercial cow-calf operation in southern Idaho. After graduating from Brigham Young University – Idaho, Marchant worked as the editor of Idaho-based Potato Grower and Sugar Producer magazines for nine years before joining Progressive Cattle.
“I’m very excited to be working more closely with the beef industry,” says Marchant. “American agriculture produces some of the best people in the world, and cattle folk are the cream of the crop. Progressive Cattle has solidified itself as one of the most trusted voices in the industry, and I look forward to contributing to that reputation.”
Marchant is an avid fan of fancy show cattle, the Utah Jazz, the TV show Psych and well-written literature. He will be based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he lives with his wife, Krista, and their two children.
