Kinze introduces new grain cart tire
Kinze Manufacturing is introducing a new grain cart row-crop tire next season for custom harvesters and farmers who transport their carts by truck from farm to farm.
The 480/80 R42 row-crop tire will be offered as an option for Kinze’s 1121 Harvest Commander dual-auger grain cart model. The rocker-axle design allows outside dual tires to drop beside a trailer bed, which reduces overall transport height by 6 inches to help avoid low-bridge clearance issues.
In addition, a swing-axle design that enables easy access and maintenance of the dual tires will be a standard feature on the 1211 cart for 2023.
Other 2023 grain cart enhancements
Kinze is also offering several other enhancements next season for its full line of dual-auger grain carts, which range in capacity from 1,100 to 1,700 bushels. Included are:
- Optional remote scale readout for viewing by the combine operator that connects to the serial port on the scale head
- A centralized grease bank that enables swift and easy lubrication of all grease points from the ground
- Oversized wing fasteners that allow tool-less access to the inspection cover and grain transfer cleanout
These new features for 2023 will provide greater operator convenience and productivity during harvest season.

New John Deere TruSet Active for tillage tools
John Deere has introduced TruSet Active tillage technology – offering farmers the ultimate solution for depth control in tillage jobs. TruSet Active utilizes a sensor located on the main frame to actively check implement working depth and field conditions during operation. It automatically and precisely keeps the tool operating at the target depth set by the operator or tillage prescription.
Beginning with model year 2024, John Deere will include TruSet Active as base equipment from the factory on select tillage tools.
Without TruSet Active, it’s possible for implement tires and shanks or disks to sink into the soil while moving through a wet spot in the field, tilling much more deeply than the farmer had initially set. Alternatively, if mud and residue build up on tires, the working depth could move higher than what was originally desired. TruSet Active corrects these issues by actively sensing the tool’s operating depth and automatically adjusting to changing conditions while moving through the field.
Farmers can also use TruSet Active to document their tillage work.

John Deere offering new strip-till equipment
John Deere has introduced a new series of strip-till equipment to help farmers till where it matters most. The new series includes a pair of integral models and three drawn models to match dry fertilizer or anhydrous applications. The new strip-till units give farmers the ability to combine nutrient application and tillage into a single, efficient field pass, potentially reducing the need for additional trips across the field.
Farmers can choose from the John Deere ST12 and ST16 Integral; or ST12, ST16 and ST18 drawn models that come from the factory ready to work in different soil and field conditions. All models are extremely heavy built and offer a variety of shanks, coulters and row spacings so the implement can be customized by the farmer to best fit field conditions and fertilizer application needs. In-cab row-cleaner adjustments make it easy to adjust for changing conditions.
Drawn models are available in 12, 16 or 18 rows, with tanks that can carry up to 10 tons of dry fertilizer and scales, giving the operator peace of mind of remaining quantity. The ST12 and ST16 are available on 30-inch spacing, and the ST18 is available on 20- or 22-inch spacing. Integral models are available in 12 or 16 rows.
