This year, Kylee Corder, a Mountain Home FFA member and chapter historian, raised a steer named Danny to be sold at the Elmore County Fair. All the proceeds will go toward the Mountain Home FFA Chapter to fund educational trips. The money would help take the chapter to different parts of the U.S., Italy and France to learn about international agriculture production.

With a goal to make $15,000 from the steer, all of the Mountain Home chapter members, including FFAChapter Advisor Kya Vines Bideganeta, were pleasantly surprised when the steer sold for $30,000 at the auction. However, this wasn't even the biggest surprise; the buyer, Quanta West, donated the steer back to the chapter to be sold again. The next buyer, RTI out of Glenns Ferry, Idaho, bought the steer for an astonishing $27,000, only for the steer to be donated again. The two high-dollar sales electrified the audience and everyone wanted to donate. In total, the steer sold 20 times, and the flood of support only continued when members of the community gave financial donations to the organization, helping reach a wild $91,910 in total proceeds – well surpassing the initial goal of only $15,000.

The Mountain Home FFA Chapter would like to thank the Corder family for their donation of the steer and feed. The chapter would also like to thank the following businesses and members of the community: Quanta West, Rural Telephone Inc., Corder White Excavation LLC, Bideganeta Construction Inc., Riley Construction, Jeanette and Steve Reynolds, Ditto Creek Ranch, Paul Barrutia, LC McIntyre Farms, Les Schwab, Mountain Home Auto Ranch, Sheep Hook Cattle Co., B Wolfe, Taylor and Hailey Owen, William Ireland, TLK Dairy Inc., American Pacific Mortgage, TLK Farms Inc., Brazzen Boise Magic Valley, Idaho Power, Ted and Sandy Cantrell, Mickey Cantrell and Elks Lodge 2276.
