Forage samples are judged on lab and visual analysis, and herd production information when applicable. Winning forage samples will be on display during the expo in the arena building.

Participants have the opportunity to compete in seven different categories for over $22,000 in cash prizes. Categories include champion dairy hay, sponsored by W-L Research; champion grass hay, sponsored by Barenbrug USA; champion commercial hay, sponsored by Nexgrow alfalfa; champion haylage, sponsored by Ag-Bag; champion baleage, sponsored by Agri-King; champion standard corn silage, sponsored by Agrisure Traits; and champion midrib corn silage, sponsored by Mycogen Seeds. Additional cash awards are sponsored by platinum sponsor, Mycogen Seeds, and silver sponsor, National Hay Association.

Special overall awards include Grand Champion Forage Producer, sponsored by Kemin; Grand Champion First-Time Entrant, sponsored by Kuhn North America; and Quality Counts Hay/Haylage and Quality Counts Corn Silage, both sponsored by Croplan By WinField. The winners of all categories will be recognized at the Mycogen Seeds awards luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The World Forage Analysis Superbowl is organized in partnership with DairyBusiness Communications, Dairyland Laboratories Inc., U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, University of Wisconsin – Madison and World Dairy Expo.
