Harry Cline, editor emeritus of Western Farm Press (WFP), recently received the Jim Kuhn Leadership Award sponsored by the California Alfalfa and Forage Association (CAFA).
Presenting the award at the 2013 Western Alfalfa and Forage Symposium in Reno, Nevada, was CAFA Board Chairman Robert Ferguson.
Cline’s ag journalism career began in Texas, moved through Arizona and settled in California. His career spanned more than 50 years and culminated as editor of WFP.
“One of the things Harry has done is to advocate forcefully for deregulation of GMOs,” said CAFA board member and former president Philip Bowels.
“It is with great pleasure that CAFA awards its annual Jim Kuhn Leadership award to Harry Cline … who has exhibited extraordinary lasting contributions and leadership to the alfalfa industry,” added Spencer Halsey, CAFA’s executive director.Cline and his wife, Georgann, are long-time residents of Fresno, California. They have three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
