Anne-Marieke Smid obtained her Ph.D. in 2019 at the University of British Columbia. In her Ph.D., she studied the preferences of dairy cows to access different types of outdoor areas. After completion of her Ph.D., she started a postdoc at the University of Calgary, working with Dr. Herman Barkema. Anne-Marieke is currently conducting a field study to understand the effects of different types of outdoor areas on dairy cow health.
