1. New hay-cutting demonstrations
New hay-cutting demonstrations at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will focus on getting quality feed with a well-executed hay harvest featuring new mowers and mower conditioners from eight companies.
John Deere, Krone, Kubota, Kuhn, Lely, New Holland, Poettinger and Vermeer will be showing off mowers, mower-conditioners or both at this year’s demonstration in the Southwest demo field.
The demonstration will take place on a mix of grasses in one pass, so attendees are able to get up close and see how each group of mowers or mower-conditioners responds. Technique and technology will be on showcase during the hay-cutting demonstrations each day at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.
The mowers and mower-conditioners will start daily at 1:30 p.m. in the Southwest demo field. Whether farmers are in the market for mowers, mower-conditioners or are undecided, this demonstration will surely help make those final purchase decisions.
2. New automated feed system demonstrations in the Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre
Each day in the Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre, Lely and DeLaval will both be demonstrating their respective automated feeding systems.
Starting at 10 a.m., the team from DeLaval will host regular demonstrations of the DeLaval Optifeeding system until 2 p.m. Similarly, the team from Lely will host two demonstrations daily of the Lely Vector system at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
3. New Kubota M7 Series ride-’n-drive
Originally unveiled to Canadian farmers at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show last year, the new Kubota M7 Series tractors will be available to test drive this fall.
The Kubota M7 ride-’n-drive zone will be open all day on Sept. 13, 14 and 15 for farmers to experience. Interested farmers can cross over to the ride-’n-drive zone at Gate 5 on Lower Machinery Mall.
Feel the power of the M7 tractors directly from the driver’s seat. In addition to the ride-’n-drive zone, the Kubota flagship exhibit will display its full range of equipment at the corner of 1st Lane and South Mall.
4. New small loader tractor ride-’n-drive
Moving feed around the farm is sometimes the job of dairy farmers’ smaller loader tractors. The new small loader tractor ride-’n-drive at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show this fall will help farmers understand the features and benefits of loader tractors available on the market today.
Five companies will have tractors on hand for the ride-’n-drives, which focus on tractors that have 85 horsepower or less. Tractors and instructors will be available from AGCO, McCormick, Kubota, GC Duke and John Deere.
The ride-’n-drive will offer the chance to move mulch and bales in addition to maneuvering tight turns. Each participating company will have tractors available for farmers to test drive without the need to pre-book appointments.
The small loader tractor ride-’n-drive zone will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. directly behind the Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre and Grober Young Animal Development Centre.
Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will take place Sept. 13-15 at Canada’s Outdoor Park in Woodstock, Ontario. Visit www.outdoorfarmshow.com for more information.
