Last August, Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) jumped at the opportunity of teaming up with Chinese-Canadian Chef and food personality Stephanie Yuen to introduce new and exciting ways of incorporating dairy products into Chinese recipes during Toronto’s acclaimed Taste of Asia festival.

Chef Yuen demonstrated recipes from DFC’s multicultural campaign’s hellodairy.ca, a new bilingual (English and traditional Chinese) online destination for Chinese-Canadian consumers.

It includes Chinese-oriented recipes developed in collaboration with Chef Yuen as well as targeted nutritional content that helps debunk common dairy myths to help Chinese-Canadians feel more comfortable using dairy products.

Dairy products are nutritious but are seldom used in traditional Chinese cooking. However, with a little creativity and imagination, dairy can easily be incorporated in their daily life.

In coming months, DFC will continue to provide relevant content and delicious meal solutions that integrate traditional Chinese ingredients and flavours with dairy products made from 100% Canadian milk.

Cheese: A truly Canadian pleasure

With the new fall season, DFC launched its All You Need Is Cheese campaign with two new TV spots. The campaign’s integrated media plan also includes billboards located throughout the Maritimes, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, print ads appearing in several magazines as well as web-based promotions.

Most Canadians are unaware of the fact that many of the wonderful cheeses we enjoy daily are actually made in Canada. Indeed, they are usually thought of as European pleasures.

Through its latest campaign – especially in the wake of the Commercial and Economic Trade Agreement, which will soon permit a greater quantity of European cheese to enter our domestic market – DFC felt it was imperative to inform all Canadians that the wide variety of cheeses they love is produced, with passion and hard work, right here at home.

With this in mind, the TV commercials, aired both on conventional and specialty channels, make a connection with renowned European cheese hot spots that just happen to have a Canadian counterpart.

Both the “This is Holland” and “This is Paris” TV commercials are accessible on DFC’s YouTube channel.
