What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University in dairy productions. Additionally, I gained eighteen years of education operating my own dairy farm near Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Please describe your agricultural background.
Growing up, I spent all my free time on my grandparents’ farm with the goal of taking over. After college, I moved onto the farm and developed a dairy herd. My family and I milked for eighteen years and continue to run the cropland. Currently we raise meat animals and market direct to the consumer.
What territory will you cover?
Central Minnesota, Stearns County, parts of Morrison, Todd and Millacs, and east to the Wisconsin border.
What are your new responsibilities?
Market semen and health products. Introduce clients to the mating programs.
What previous positions have you held?
I was a relief A.I. technician for 21st Genetics while in college; otherwise, my career has been in production agriculture.
Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
My grandparents were influential in getting me involved in agriculture. My grandfather was a good teacher, willing to let me take on responsibility at a young age.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I hope to help producers advance their genetics and maximize profitability.
