Westar proudly introduces the launch of its new cow prep system called the Udder Gun. For years, the benefits of using a teat scrubber for prepping cows in a parlor have been widely known. Up until this point, your only choice has been using one of the high-maintenance, electrical driven, rotary brush type teat scrubbers.

This teat scrubber eliminates the bad problems of the old brush units, while improving the ergonomics, cleaning and most importantly, the cow’s letdown.

The system uses no confusing PLCs or electronics, everything in the system is mechanically operated by air and water pressure, making maintenance easy, with zero chance of stray voltage.

Between the Udder Gun website, dealer network and qualified service techs, the team is ready to serve. The website provides you with the details of the system and other service products to keep your system running smoothly. In addition, you can see pictures of installed systems or easily find a local dealer to contact for more information.

The system comes standard with two guns for washing, disinfecting and stimulating cows for better let down. It also comes with two flush holsters designed to clean the guns, a water prep unit that can be mounted in a utility room near the parlor and three primary hoses, which transfer the water and air supply from the water prep out to the guns.

The teat scrubber itself only weighs 2.5 pounds, and with its ergonomic pistol grip design, the user won’t be fatigued midway through their shift.

The system is designed for any style of parlor from 100 cows up to 6,000 cows. Some farms with the system installed have recorded a decrease of nearly 25,000 SCC, an increase in milk production of 2 percent and a decrease in milking times by almost 10 percent, due to faster prep times and quicker let down.
