What education are you bringing with you to this position?A bachelor's degree in animal sciences from Monterrey Technical Institute; a master's degree in ruminant nutrition from Texas Tech University; and a Ph.D. in nutrition from the University of California – Davis.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I worked in a family dairy with 500 cows in northern Mexico.
What territory will you cover?
The western U.S. and Mexico.
What are your new responsibilities?
To provide dairy nutrition and management technical support to our marketing and sales groups.
What previous positions have you held?
I was an associate professor at Colorado State University for more than seven years. I taught dairy nutrition and management and conducted research in ruminant nutrition.
I then spent more than twenty years working for Elanco Animal Health – one of my assignments was manager of technical consultants for beef and dairy cattle. I also supported the launches of several new products in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, I was a nutrition consultant for Vita Plus.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
To work directly with consulting nutritionists, veterinarians, and feed industry partners and influencers, who work tirelessly to help producers improve and manage their business toward financial success.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
By being a problem solver, a trusted consultant and by bringing the latest technology and information to help them improve their production management systems.
