Tony Grzemski Fulton, Illinois Regulatory Affairs Coordinator Agri-King
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a bachelor degree in chemistry from Elmhurst College, with emphasis on organic chemistry and chemical principals.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I have extensive knowledge and background in working with secondary direct food additives, used either as a food additive or as a processing aid in food and feed processing.
I also have knowledge concerning the packaging regulations used to commercially sell those products to the public.
What are your new responsibilities?
I am responsible for product registrations and regulatory reviews both domestically and internationally.
What previous positions have you held?
In my professional career I have had the opportunity to work in both a laboratory setting and in sales and marketing, working within regulatory affairs.
I have found a rewarding career balance in being able to draw upon my chemical expertise and in working with industry and trade consortiums.
I have worked for Emerald Performance Materials, LLC, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, as manager of regulatory affairs; for PPG Industries in Memphis, Tennessee, as a sales representative and technical service supervisor; for Mazer Chemicals, Inc., in Gurnee, Illinois, as international technical service coordinator; and as a research and development chemist for Aldrich Chemical Company.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
I am working with a feed manufacturer and have the opportunity to grow upon my professional expertise outside of the specialty chemical market.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I will be able to have dialogues with producers concerning our products' feed registrations within the U.S. and internationally.
Why did you choose this company?
Agri-King is a very close, family-run company, which is something I value in a work setting. In today’s business climate you don’t see a great deal of companies operating with that type of philosophy.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My professional goals are to become more knowledgeable in food/feed products regulation and then apply my skills to grow our company product registrations. PD
