Nate Goldenberg McGregor, Texas Sales Manager Soy Best
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a master’s degree in agriculture from Oklahoma State University.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up on a small dairy farm in central Oklahoma. I’m a dairy nutritionist by trade and I have been doing dairy nutrition work for more than 20 years.
I worked for several other companies prior to joining Soy Best. For the last 10 years, I’ve been working as an independent consultant. Prior to then, I worked for Farmland Industries, PM Ag Products and CHR Hansen among other companies.
What are your new responsibilities?
My new responsibilities will mostly include sales and sales support for the territory that I will cover for nutritionists as well as feed manufacturers and distributors.
What territory will you cover?
West and Southwest, including states such as Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
I’m most excited about working with one of the highest-quality products out there and getting to work with all the different consultants and feed manufacturers throughout the West and Southwest.
I look forward to getting the product familiarized because, although it has been around a long time, it has been out of sight. I’m the first sales manager that Soy Best has had for this region, so I’m excited that they hired me to help others become familiar with this product. I’m glad to be the first one.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I’ll play more of a technical support and sales role in this position. I will be more of an intermediary for feed manufacturers, consultants and nutritionists rather than producer-driven.
I will detail the product and explain the metabolism and high quality of the product which, in the long run, will subsequently help the producer better understand our product as well.
Why did you choose this company?
Soy Best is a small company, so there is not a lot of tier management and decisions can be made very quickly.
What’s important to the customer is important to the CEO of the company. I also like the small business, family-type atmosphere that the company has.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
Well, I hope I’m still doing this job in five or 10 years, increasing sales radically over that time period. That’s my ultimate goal.
I would like to continue having a great working relationship with the independent consultants and feed manufacturers in the industry as well as other people that are supporting the producer. PD
