What education are you bringing with you to this position?
A DVM degree obtained in La Salle University School of Veterinary Medicine in Colombia, a speciality in university teaching, coaching training and many years of continued education.

Please describe your agricultural background.
Our family had a double-purpose dairy farm in Colombia. I worked in a private practice for 15 years and as an assistant professor in the La Salle University teaching reproduction and large animal internal medicine for nine years.

What territory will you cover?
Twenty-five percent of my time will be focused in the Southwest region. The other 75 percent will be dedicated to providing national and international support to our customers.

What are your new responsibilities?
My responsibilities include the delivery of Vi-COR's Milk to The Max program and technical support through our customers to the dairy farms. This program includes the evaluation, training and implementation of programs and procedures that include all the productive, reproductive and management areas.

What previous positions have you held?
When I moved to the U.S. with my family 12 years ago, I worked as a herd manager at Williams Farm in Milledgeville, Illinois. After that, I worked with ABS Global Inc. as a technical service consultant in the U.S.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
The margins of the dairy industry are tight today, every penny counts. It is a time when proper employee training, productive and proactive practices and efficiency of every area in the dairy industry represent the difference and the opportunity to be successful.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?

Help our customers and farm employees to understand the “why” of every practice or procedure at the dairy. In addition, using the farm goals and working with the dairy veterinarian and nutritionist as a team with the implementation of these programs and protocols. PD
