Shane St. Cyr Plattsburgh, New York Training and Field Support Manager SCR Dairy, Inc.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up on a dairy farm in Maine and attended Penn State University in agricultural systems management. Since then, I've worked in the production sector of the dairy industry, managing operations of various sizes.
What territory will you cover?
I will be helping all of our U.S. customers.
What are your new responsibilities?
I will be helping clients to maximize the benefits of our systems by training them and helping them to develop farm-specific protocols and procedures based on the information our systems are able to collect.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
The opportunity to work directly with producers – helping them be as efficient and profitable as possible, which will lead to their sustainability.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
Having worked many years in the production sector I can relate directly to the users of our systems. I have been in their shoes and can fully relate to the goals and expectations of a dairy producer. Because of this experience, I am able to help producers maximize the benefit from our systems.
Why did you choose this company?
SCR is committed to the development of products to benefit the producer by monitoring the health of the animals. In any dairy operation, the health and well-being of the animals is key to the success of the business.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
I would like to help every producer reach the personal goals that they have set for their operation. It is my desire that everyone I work with consider SCR and myself a benefit to their business and a key component to their success. PD
