HRS has partnered with numerous producers in the Pacific Northwest to bring top-rated forage varieties to market. One aspect that truly sets it apart is its market expertise, including newly appointed national sales manager, Bret Winsett.
Winsett is excited at the prospects of helping a young start-up achieve success. Winsett has worked in the forage industry for more than 30 years in various capacities. Early in his career, he was involved in forage research and development and was responsible for developing several of the orchardgrass, endophyte-free tall fescue and timothy varieties that are still sold in the market today.
Later, Winsett worked as a forage specialist/product manager for Miles Farm Supply, one of the largest ag supply retailers in Kentucky. His primary focus was to work with producers throughout the area with the goal of making them not only more productive but more profitable as well as sustainable.
Most recently, he was with Byron Seeds, a Midwestern distribution network of farmer-dealers and retail outlets
“I look forward to my new career with Hood River Seed,” he said. “I know our products offer farmers the best solutions and working with our team they can increase their yield, profit and long-term sustainability." FG
