The land acquired is situated near Abbotsford, and comprises nearly 34 acres of high visibility prime agricultural land immediately to the south of the trans-Canada highway.

The company discussed finding a more farmer friendly location on a number of occasions in the past, but never went beyond the discussion stage.

“This is an important strategic and symbolic purchase,” says company President Tony DeGroot. “This clearly shows the commitment the board of directors and this company are making to the long-term future of WestGen in Western Canada.”

There is no immediate pressure to build, according to the company, but planning for relocation will begin immediately.
