In a recent poll, Progressive Cattleman asked, “How long do beef cows typically produce at your ranch?”
With more than half of the vote, 53 percent of online readers said that their cows produce for about 10 to 11 years.
Some readers have cows that produce for more than 12 years. With 22 percent of the vote, this is a good portion of online readers.
Twenty percent said that their cows produce for eight to nine years, and another 5 percent said that their cows produce for seven years or less.
