In a recent online poll, Progressive Cattleman asked, “Which production EPD do you select as a top priority?”

Only 1 percent said they prioritize yearling weight, while birth weight only received 5 percent of the vote. Weaning weight did slightly better with 9 percent of the vote.

More than a quarter (31 percent) of readers said calving ease is their priority when selecting production EPDs.

The majority, however, couldn’t pick just one; 54 percent prioritizes two or more production EPDs.  end mark
