Balchem launches new, improved AminoShure-L
Balchem Corporation recently announced the release of improved AminoShure-L for the animal nutrition industry. Now with 37 percent more bioavailable lysine, it provides a true cost-effective alternative to blood meal and other lysine sources.
Balchem’s continued investment in new technology has created this breakthrough, allowing the economics of the improved product to be approximately 65 percent lower per unit of available lysine as compared to the original.
Balchem has a long history of developing innovative encapsulation processes and has now advanced the technology to the next level with AminoShure-L, allowing Balchem to dramatically increase the lysine concentration in the finished product.
As the first commercial product utilizing this new encapsulation innovation, it offers a more concentrated lysine source, lowering overall ration costs, reducing dietary metabolizable protein (MP) and creating more “room” in the diet for other ingredients.
Focused on maximizing nutrient delivery, the new AminoShure-L contains 52 percent lysine (65 percent Lysine-HCI) and industry-leading rumen protection products.

H.J. Baker & Bro., Inc. launches Metabolys bypass lysine for dairy
H.J. Baker & Bro., Inc. recently presented the latest research on its new feed ingredient product: MetaboLys bypass lysine at a reception at the ADSA – ASAS Joint Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.
H.J. Baker has spent several years in research and development to create a product that improves lactation, protein nutrition and production response. This effort resulted in the patent-pending product MetaboLys bypass lysine, which exceeds these goals.
The bypass lysine product was introduced by H.J. Baker’s Danny Wright MS, PAS, who outlined the product’s benefits including increased milk production, improved milk components and the ability to formulate to reduce ration costs and boost feed efficiency. In addition, he also discussed the patent-pending advanced coating technology, which makes the product unique.
The new product is a patent-pending rumen-protected lysine that provides lipid-coated Lysine Sulphate protection in the rumen, while allowing for digestion in the intestine in lactating cows.
Initial research conducted by the University of Georgia determined that it improves lactation and efficiency, improves protein nutrition and improves production response. Ongoing university testing and field trials will continue with lactating and cannulated cows for ruminal and duodenal digestibility. A stringent quality control program tests every batch for rumen bypass value. PD
