Grazing animals and stewardship of grazing lands will be the topics discussed at the 11th Nebraska Grazing Conference in Kearney, Nebraska, next month. The conference will run from Aug. 9-10 at the Kearney Holiday Inn and Convention Center.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Ronnie Green, University of Nebraska vice president and Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources vice chancellor. Also, Greg Judy of Green Pastures Farm in Clark, Missouri, will give three talks over the two days covering production, marketing and stewardship aspects of grazing management.
Jason Rowntree of Michigan State University will address how to maximize gain on grass.
Other presentations will look at winter grazing yearlings on cornstalks and pasture residue, controlling invasive species using prescribed burns and impacts of multi-species grazing. PD
