The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) is launching "Have U Herd?," a new column on the Dairy Doing More websitethat will provide fascinating facts and insights about one of Wisconsin’s treasures: dairy cows.
“These milk-producing mammals are not only the state’s claim to fame,” says James Robson, CEO of WMMB, “they are also world-class milk producers, natural recyclers and economic engines that keep farm families and America’s Dairyland thriving.”
Starting Sept. 30, viewers can find this column on the Dairy Doing More website. The inaugural column highlights new economic impact numbers just released by the University of Wisconsin Extension and the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
“These numbers reveal just how big dairy cows are to Wisconsin,” adds Robson. “Dairy continues to flourish as a strong and vital industry in our state.”
“While Wisconsin has long been known as ‘America’s Dairyland,’ many consumers have few connections to farming today,” states Robson. “Our goal is to give our non-farm neighbors a better understanding of where their food comes from and why dairy is so important to the state.”
