What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I went to school at Southeastern College at Wake Forest, North Carolina, and achieved my bachelor’s degree in biblical studies and minored in history.

Please describe your agricultural background.

I come from an agricultural background in South Africa, where we had a diversified family farm with 120 Holstein cows, speculated with 500 beef cows and grew forages such as corn and soybeans. We grew 200 acres of potatoes and owned and operated a sawmill as well.

What territory will you cover?
I will cover Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and parts of Maryland.

What are your new responsibilities?
My responsibilities are to oversee the regional team of area sales managers and technician supervisors and to maximize sales and service in the region. I will work closely with genetic and reproductive programs to establish relationships with our valued members and customers.

I will help identify and service accounts as well as leading training events for the sales team. It is also my responsibility to hire and continually evaluate the sales and service positions required to maximize sales and service.

What previous positions have you held?
I came to this country through an international agricultural student program. I trained on a feed yard in Iowa; I worked for North Florida Holsteins in Bell, Florida, as well as in the Dominican Republic training and supervising the locals in standard milking and feeding procedures.

I have worked in the A.I. industry for more than ten years with five years spent working with an A.I. stud in Okeechobee, Florida, interacting and servicing large dairies and beef ranches in reproduction efficiencies.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I have worked for Select Sire Power as an area sales manager in north-central Florida for five years where I thoroughly enjoyed helping member customers to reach their reproductive goals and inevitably become more profitable.

My job entailed semen sales, training member customers to breed cows in English and Spanish, individually mating the cows through Select Mating Service and synchronizing and breeding groups of cows and heifers in both beef and dairy. This experience is valuable to the producers I will help in my new position.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goal in my new position is to help member customers in the central region to obtain and maximize reproductive efficiency. I want to help members develop well-balanced, functional cows that fill the milk tank year after year.

Why did you choose this company?
I chose to work for Select Sire Power because I believe in and have experienced a genuine concern from the sales team to help member customers in their herds.

Select Sire Power is a cooperative that is owned and operated by farmers, and it gives back significant dollars to its members every year. It is an honor to work for a company whose primary focus is the success of the customer. PD
