The National Mastitis Council annual meeting was held January 27-30 in San Diego, California.
More than 400 experts in mastitis research and milk quality from around the world gathered to share ideas and brainstorm solutions to todayâs industry challenges.
Of NMCâs 1,500-member base, 28 percent are from outside the U.S. The California meeting had a particularly high attendance rate, bringing in many first-time attendees.
The three-day event featured 65 poster presentations as well as general sessions and panel discussions, all unveiling the latest research throughout the world.
NMC has challenged its members to solve milk quality issues through several committees, each made up of about 20 industry leaders, including company representatives, veterinarians and university researchers.
These committee meetings were open to all attendees.
During the meeting, attendees were able to choose from nine short course presentations, including mastitis control on organic dairies to on-farm testing and prevention. PD
