What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I received my degree fromMarquette University, majoring in accounting.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I worked at a hedge fund for the previous five years. I primarily traded futures and options on futures, as well as equities and options on equities. I traded all sorts of products – from agricultural products to metals, from currencies to bonds. Experience with hedge funds gives me unique perspective on investors’ interest in agricultural markets.

What are your new responsibilities?
I am a member of the Market360 advisory team. My responsibilities will include generating strategies and trade ideas, consulting with clients to customize marketing recommendations for their individual operation, and helping clients manage the opportunities and risks presented by the ever-present volatility in the commodity markets.

What territory will you cover?
I will be working with both grain and dairy clients nationwide to customize strategies and help them navigate the volatility in the commodity markets.

What previous positions have you held?
I worked for a firm that appraised businesses and after that I entered the investment industry and rose up the ranks at a hedge fund over a five-year period.

What excites you most about working in your new role?
I really enjoy talking to producers about their business goals. I like explaining strategies and customizing strategies to help producers achieve their financial goals. Producers work long hours and have extremely difficult jobs, and I look forward to helping them rest easy knowing that I am watching the markets and assisting them with their marketing efforts.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I have a lot of experience on the trading side of the business. I am familiar with how money flows in and out of the commodity markets. I have been a part of the “fund world” and will be able to bring that experience to our Market360 team so we can execute the best possible trades for our clients.

Why did you choose this company?
One of my former colleagues worked at Stewart-Peterson and always had excellent things to say about the firm. I did some research and really liked what I saw. Throughout my interview I became more and more impressed with the staff and have been very happy with my decision to join the firm.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
I look forward to being a trusted adviser and a valued asset to the producers I deal with. I aim to forge meaningful and long-lasting relationships with my clients.

I will add value to their operations based on our research, constant evaluation of the markets, and prepared strategies to help them manage through uncertain times. Ultimately, I look forward to delivering to my clients the best possible average price on their commodities for years to come. PD
