Land O’Lakes Purina Feed hosted its annual Leading Dairy Producer Conference on Jan. 5-6 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. In its 10th year, this is one of the largest dairy producer conferences in the Upper Midwest.

More than 650 people gathered at the Kalahari Resort, representing 191 dairy farms and more than 140,000 cows. Attendees had the chance to learn about a variety of topics ranging from forage preservation to intensified calf feeding programs.

“Each year the goal is to provide a discussion forum for the most progressive dairy producers and deliver the latest dairy nutrition and management insights,” said Elena Lindemann, dairy business and lactating livestock marketing leader with Land O’Lakes Purina Feed. “Dr. David LaCount, our dairy nutritionist based in Wisconsin, leads the selection of topics on key relevance for dairy producers.”

New to the conference this year was a dairy jeopardy contest allowing producers to engage in friendly competition to test their dairy nutrition knowledge. Each participant received feed vouchers good towards their next Land O’Lakes Purina Feed purchase. Congratulations to Jerry Gaska, from Nehls Bros. Farm in Juneau, Wisconsin, for being the grand prize drawing winner for his participation in dairy jeopardy.

Land O’Lakes Purina Feed partners with several industry leading companies to host the Leading Dairy Producer Conference each year and bring the newest research and information to attendees. PD
