The Animal Agriculture Alliance has unveiled a new website, the product of an almost nine-month redesign effort focused on providing its members, media and consumers the most relevant, up-to-date information in an easily navigable and mobile-friendly format.
“Our staff has been working diligently since late May 2013 to completely overhaul" the website, said President and CEO Kay Johnson Smith, noting that it "recognizes that in this digital age we need to ensure we’re providing answers to those seeking more information about their food supply and animal agriculture.”
The new website features content broken down into five key categories that mirror the company’s mission to “Connect, Educate, and Protect.” Website visitors will find information about its most recent initiatives as well as science-based facts on hot-button issues including the responsible use of antibiotics, animal care and environmental sustainability.
The website includes two interactive maps: one tracking state legislative measures affecting animal agriculture, and a second one detailing undercover videos commissioned by animal rights activist groups. It will host a virtual library containinghistorical information on various activist and other detractor groups.
The website presents information in a much more visual manner, focusing on content with accompanying pictures, graphics or video. Most crucially, the website is fully mobile-capable, able to be accessed on any hand-held mobile device.
“We hope that our members, consumers and the media will find our new website easier to navigate,"said Johnson Smith, noting the effort is "to help the industry become more transparent and proactive in our communications.” PD
