What are your new responsibilities?
I have dual roles within the organization. The one role is internally focused on strategic technological direction, systems, infrastructure, platforms and relationships across the association.The other role is focused on technology solutions that will increase information accessibility and drive value to our members, partners and customers. Whether support or solutions my team’s goal is to simply make life more efficient through the use of technology.
Please describe your agricultural background.
Growing up in Wyoming County in western New York most of my friends and their families either were dairymen or grew varying types of crops.
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a degree in business administration from Roberts Wesleyan College and continuing education at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
What previous positions have you held?
In the last 25 years, I have held positions as vice president of information technology at Dimatix Inc., director of application development and integration with FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation and varying positions with ABB, Combustion Engineering and Taylor Instruments.
Why did you choose this company?
After several stints in corporate America, I decided that my contribution, skills and experience would be better utilized in a small organization. Even better was one that services the industry that defined my youth.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goals are simple but lofty. I want to improve the data and decision-making of dairymen and grow the Holstein Association by driving more value to its members. PD
