In addition to the trade show, cattle shows and seminars, here are a couple of other activities not to miss at World Dairy Expo.
Alltech Roadshow examines mycotoxin impact at World Dairy Expo
Join the Alltech Mycotoxin Roadshow at World Dairy Expo. Featured speakers are Dr. Johanna Fink-Gremmels of Utrecht University and Dr. Max Hawkins, Alltech mycotoxin management team nutritionist.
Fink-Gremmels will take an in-depth look at the role mycotoxins play in the health and performance of dairy cows, while Hawkins will provide an overview of the mycotoxin management program, designed to help producers safeguard the quality of their feedstuffs and the health of their animals.
Presentations will take place in the Madison Room, located in the Exhibition Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 30 (9 a.m., 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m.) and Thursday, Oct. 1 (8:30 a.m.).
Visitors to booth #EH 3201-3304 at World Dairy Expo will also have the opportunity to learn more about how the mycotoxin management program can assist in reducing mycotoxin risks on-farm while improving herd performance and profitability.
Cargill Animal Nutrition features ‘TMRtist’
In Booth 3401, Cargill Animal Nutrition will be using feed to tailor a vision a different way – on an artist’s canvas. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, an artist will be creating some of the visions of the company’s customers – the ones they dream about – with feed. Some might call him a feed artist. Or a TMRtist.
Visit Booth 3401 during the show to see the live artwork. Visit their website to see how the company is helping its customers experience the best combination of dream and reality.
Take home your own Immunity-plus-sired daughter from Semex during World Dairy Expo
Sired by an elite Genomax Immunity-plus bull, Pulsar Brenda is in the top 1 percent of the breed for GTPI, and she could be yours. Immunity-plus distinguishes the company as a genetic company of choice.
At the heart of this technology is more than 20 years of research at the University of Guelph and more than 100 published papers in scientific journals on immunogenetics.
Being 25 percent heritable, immune response selection is extremely effective, with each generation bred to an Immunity-Plus sire expected to reduce disease incidence by at least 4 to 8 percent.
And these offspring produce higher-quality colostrum with more antibodies and have a greater response to commercial vaccines. Only at World Dairy Expo, pick up a hat and enter to #takehomebrenda at the Semex tent next to the Coliseum.
Bio-Vet to host drawing
To promote its post-calving program (21 days pre- to 100 days post-calving) utilizing QuadriCal calcium boluses, RumenAider capsules and Generator Ultra direct-fed microbial, Bio-Vet will conduct a drawing during World Dairy Expo 2015.
Booth visitors may sign up for this drawing at the company’s booth located in the Exhibition Hall (1503-1504), and one winner will be chosen in each of three herd size categories: less than 250 cows, 250 to 999 cows, and 1,000 or more cows.
No purchase is necessary to enter. To enter, you must be present at the 2015 World Dairy Expo. Entrants must be actively involved in dairy production and live in the continental U.S. One entry per person. Winners will be notified after World Dairy Expo. PD
