Select Sires added four recent legends to its “Impact Sires of the Breed” artwork.
The animals 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET (EX-94-GM), 7HO8081 Ensenada Taboo PLANET-ET (EX-90-GM), 7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET (EX-94) and 7HO7004 Erbacres DAMION (EX-96) have impacted the Holstein breed around the world, according to the company, which first introduced artwork in 2007.“We added O MAN, PLANET, ADVENT-RED and DAMION to the print because of their current impact on the Holstein breed,” says Charlie Will, manager of the Holstein sire program. “O MAN has been the breed’s fitness leader. PLANET has been able to moderate stature and is a high production, outcross sire.
“ADVENT-RED continues to be a dominant tanbark Red and White sire while DAMION was, for a long time, the highest Type sire at 99 percent reliability, setting the bar to which other type bulls are compared.”
