Two U.S.-based animal nutrition and health companies — Vets Plus Inc. (VPI) and Ashish Life Science — have partnered to develop pharmaceutical formulations for veterinarian health. The collaboration is expected to result in multiple pharmaceuticals utilizing the strengths of each company’s existing research teams.
“Pooling our scientific resources and sharing our research will allow us to better serve the industry with innovative solutions for animal health,” says VPI President and CEO Raj Lall.
The production of jointly developed pharmaceuticals will take place in Ashish’s India facility, while manufacturing of supplements will continue at VPI’s Menomonie, Wisconsin, headquarters.
“We are not closing down any of our current manufacturing lines,” Lall says. “This partnership will only expand our capabilities.”
The partnership also includes an exclusive agreement for distribution in the U.S. VPI will be the sole distributor of all Ashish’s nutritional and feed supplement products, as well as the drug products resulting from the collaborative research.
