Iwig Family Dairy, which has been in the business since 1910, has opened a second retail store in Lawrence, Kansas. The first Lawrence location opened about a year ago. This new store brings their total number of Kansas stores to four, including one in Topeka and another in Tecumseh.
According to an article in The Capital-Journal, dairy co-owner Lori Iwig said that the new store opened in response to requests by customers in the area.
“It has been tremendous to watch the store on Mass Street [in Lawrence] grow and to meet so many fans of our milk,” she said. “But we also heard from many customers that the location of the store was not the most convenient for them.”
In addition to selling the Tecumseh-based company's milk, the stores stock other local food products such as baked goods and jam. PD
