What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I haveDVM from Colombia. Then at UC-Davis, I did a residency on Dairy Production Medicine and a master’s in preventive veterinary medicine.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I am the grandson of a dairy farmer in Colombia. I’ve worked all my life around dairy cows. Before, during and after veterinary school my professional life has always been around dairies.
What territory will you cover?
I will cover California, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Arizona.
What are your new responsibilities?
I’ll provide technical service by means of dairy visits and record analysis in areas where clients consider they may need some kind of assistance. Also, I’ll work hand-in-hand with local managers to help make a successful and lasting relationship with the clients.
What previous positions have you held?
I was a resident (dairy production medicine) at VMTRC – UC Davis in Tulare, California from 2003 to 2007. I was also a herd veterinarian/nutritionist of two large herds in Hanford, California from 2007 to 2013.
Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
I would say professors, dairymen and dairy employees that I have interacted with these 10 years working within the California dairy industry have made a big impact.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
Two areas where I might be able to help the most is transition cow management and calf/heifer rising.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
I want to help to strengthen the relationship between the company and our customers. I also hope to bring opportune and precise assistance to any dairyman that requests our company technical service.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
