Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has vetoed a state bill that would have permitted raw milk to be distributed across the Silver State. In so doing, the governor has sided with health experts who say there’s potential danger to consumers of raw milk, this according to information from the National Milk Producers Federation.

“While 20 states prohibit the sale of raw milk to consumers, several states have loosened, or have considered loosening, restrictions on the sale of unpasteurized dairy products in recent years,” reads a statement by the federation, “despite the number of illnesses that have continued to be linked to the product.

The federation said it urges other states to consider similar legislation. PD
