Warren reduced his livestock by more than half – from 55 cows to 11 – after losing his lease on land the family once owned and sold to the state. The article explored the bidding and leasing process for state-owned land in Delaware.

Lane Creek Farm

The La Crosse Tribune covered Gov. Scott Walker’s announcement of the third round of Grow Wisconsin Dairy 30x20 grants. Walker made his announcement at Jeff and Jo Berg’s 60-cow dairy, Lane Creek Farm.
The Bergs received a 30x20 grant in 2012. They added a robotic milking system – the first of its kind in La Crosse County – and completed numerous other construction projects to improve access to farm equipment and buildings. Milk output increased from 2,500 pounds to 5,000 pounds per day.
