As a third-party observer and adviser, I can view a dairy from a variety of outside perspectives, which is a valuable asset to a dairy. My background in reproduction, nutrition, employee relations and dairy production help me share with producers how they can improve animal wellbeing and performance and contribute to the dairy’s bottom line. Why did you choose this company?
I joined the company because it’s an organization focused on developing technology that directly improves the health and productivity of individual cows. SCR’s technology is a practical and field-proven channel of communication allowing each cow, regardless of herd size, to communicate 24/7 to the people responsible for her.
If a cow experiences a change in natural function indicating the advent of a health issue, the technology recognizes this change, alerts the herd manager and allows for immediate intervention.
Furthermore, it provides the dairy herd management team and nutritionist, group and herd data that can show the immediate feedback of intended and unintended changes on the dairy. This, coupled with the company's commitment for further development of technology going forward, makes working for them an exciting prospect.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goal is to help make this technology a critical component of all dairy operations in my territory. The impact of giving the individual dairy cow the capability to communicate her immediate health status to those who rely on her to perform at a high level is critical, significant and relevant. PD
