This year’s winners of Accelerated Genetics' annual photo contest entered photos under two categories: Caring for Your Animals or Showing Your Pride for Agriculture. The winners for the Caring for Your Animals category were:
- 1st place – Danae Bauer, Scandinavia, Wisconsin, with photo titled “Snug as a Bug in a Rug”
- 2nd place – Josie Alexander, Hoxie, Kansas, with photo titled “Got Milk?”
- 3rd place – Connie Eibergen, Madison, Wisconsin, with photo titled “Clean Pens, Healthy Calves”
The winners for the Showing Your Pride for Agriculture category were:
- 1st place – Danae Bauer, with photo titled “American Pride”
- 2nd place – Nargiza Kanybek Kyzy, Harmony, Minnesota, with photo titled “Connecting with Agriculture”
- 3rd place – Robin Kleine, Lowell, Indiana, with photo titled “A Gracious Winner”
Accelerated Genetics has two new themes for participants to tackle in the 2013 contest: AG in Action and Breeds of the Seasons.
For AG in Action, contestants should capture their favorite Accelerated Genetics cattle, products, services, representatives, etc. as they’re showcased around the farm. For Breeds of the Seasons, participants should snap photos of their favorite breeds while showcasing their favorite season.
A panel of judges will select winners from each category and they will be awarded the following prizes: a $100 gift card for 1st place, a $75 gift card for 2nd and $50 gift card for 3rd.
Digital photos are required and need to be sent as a high resolution (300 dpi) JPEG image with photo size at least 8 x 10 inches. Low resolution photos will be not be included in the contest. Digital images can be sent via email or mailed in on a CD.
The entry deadline is Sept. 1, 2013. Contestants can enter as many photos as they wish.
For each photo entered, please include: name of photographer, address, phone, email, location photo was taken, photo title and photo category. Then email entries with the subject line "2012 Photo Contest" or mail CDs or prints to Accelerated Genetics, Kristin Olson – Photo Contest, E10890 Penny Lane, Baraboo, WI 53913.
