Missouri's statewide dairy convention is expanding to a regional event called the Heart of America Dairy Expo, taking place Jan. 25-26 in Springfield, Missouri. “We are really excited to offer dairy farmers in the Midwest an alternative for educational programming closer to home and directed to our needs,” says Missouri Dairy Association (MDA) President Larry Purdom of Purdy, Missouri. “We picked Springfield for the next two years because it is a natural trade hub and home to many dairy businesses such as Kraft, Mueller, F&S Food Equipment Company, Dairy Farmers of America and Hiland Dairy Foods."
The Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center will be home to the first Heart of America expo. The Ramada has recently completed a new convention hall which will house over 60 exhibits and equipment inside.“Missouri’s dairy organizations will also continue to conduct board meetings and annual meetings during the expo,” says Dave Drennan, MDA executive director and expo sales manager.
“Dairy farmers and allied industry from surrounding states are welcome to attend. We also don’t want travelers to forget that Branson is only 45 miles away from Springfield so we hope they plan a trip and enjoy all Missouri has to offer."
Registration is free for dairy farmers. Luncheon reservations are required for Friday and Saturday and may be made by email or by calling (636) 519-9300. Sponsor and exhibitor information is available from the same sources.
Hotel room reservations may be made by calling the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center at (417) 866-5253. Ask for the Heart of America Dairy Expo room block. PD
