Join the Dairy Calf and Heifer Association (DCHA) on Thursday, March 10, or Friday, March 11, as Mike Apley, DVM, PhD, Kansas State University, one of the world's foremost experts on antibiotic use in cattle, talks about the realities of residues in bob veal calves and the issues related to resistance to antibiotics that may develop due to our use in calves.

You may ask the question, "Are there some drugs where a little is OK when the cow or calf goes to slaughter but others where any detection would be a violation?" Everyone involved in the dairy industry should understand what is happening with Salmonella Newport and other organisms that cause disease in both cattle and humans, and how continuous application of drugs to which these pathogens are already resistant may actually help some become more widespread in the population.

The March 10 webinar will take place at 1 p.m. CST. The March 11 webinar is set for 11 a.m. CST. DCHA member registration is free; while non-members may register for a $25 fee. Click here to register. PD
