Western United Dairymen member Richard Michel, Waterford, California, has been elected chairman of the California Milk Advisory Board, which promotes products under the “Real California” label. Michel, a third-generation dairyman, milks 1,200 Holsteins and is a member of the California Dairies Inc. processing cooperative.


Domenic Carinalli, Jr., was elected vice chairman. A dairyman all of his life, Carinalli milks a Holstein and Guernsey herd at the 500-acre Carinalli Dairy in Sebastopol, California. He ships his milk to Safeway. He and his wife, Lynda, have three daughters. Carinalli is a past president of Western United Dairymen and he is on the board of directors of the California Guernsey Club, Sonoma County Farm Bureau, and the Goldridge Volunteer Fire Department.
