What are your new responsibilities?My new responsibilities are to maintain the current hoof trimmer clientele and to also make outbound calls to talk to trimmers about what Animart can do to help make their businesses more successful.
What territory will you cover?
I will work mostly from the office in Beaver Dam. However, I will also be doing on-farm trims and attending conferences and conventions in Wisconsin and throughout the country.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I worked on dairy farms when I was younger and raised my own beef steers.
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have attended many different conferences and conventions to help educate myself more about the trimming profession. The best education comes from working with the client and listening to what they have to say, as they know the profession better than anyone. I have had the opportunity to work in the field with trimmers – that is the best education there is.
What previous positions have you held?
I have been at Animart almost 12 years. My most recent position was in client services.
What excites you most about working in your new role?
The most exciting part of my new position is all the clients I get to work with on a daily basis. Learning from them and about the things they have used on a cow’s foot are amazing. Some of the stories they tell me about their day trimming are truly priceless.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
Working with the clients is key to my learning. Hopefully with the meetings that I attend I can pick up a few things along the way that are new and useful information to the trimmers.
Why did you choose this company?
I chose to join the Animart team in April of 1999 because of my belief in the company and what it stands for. I feel Animart is a leader in the industry and I strive to work hard, be a leader and share my product and hoof health knowledge with fellow employees and clients.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goals are to work hard with clients to come up with new and inventive ideas to try to make the hard work that they do every day make them more successful. We will just have to wait and see what happens. PD
