Equipped with a powerful twin-cylinder engine, independent four-wheel suspension and availability of more than 75 attachments, the XUV590i provides a balance of performance and work capability in the midsize class.
These four-passenger models have a top speed of more than 45 mph and are powered by a 586 cc, 32 horsepower, liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder gasoline engine. The XUV590i offers operators 10.5-inch minimum ground clearance, 800-pound load capacity and 1,100-pound towing capacity. Likewise, the XUV590i S4 has a 9.3-inch minimum ground clearance, 1,200-pound load capacity and is capable of towing up to 1,100 pounds.
The models also come standard with an 875-watt, 65-ampere alternator to run auxiliary attachments, such as lights, winches and sprayers, without the fear of discharging the battery.
The models feature a large, 7.4-gallon fuel tank to keep the vehicle running longer between fill-ups.
Winnipeg company introduces steel tires for skid steers
Tired of flat tires? What’s old is new again, with steel tires dubbed Evolution Wheels from a Winnipeg, Manitoba, company. A staggered cleat pattern allows for material cleanout and works across a variety of soil conditions. Cleat depth and width is 2 inches and 9 inches respectively. Weight per tire is 235 pounds. No spacers are required, and the literature states, “Easy install and removal; bolt on and go.”
These steel tires are fitted for using in place of 12-inch by 16.5-inch tires, with new sizes due to be released soon (10 by 16.5 and 14 by 17.5 sizes). Applications are appropriate for agriculture, forestry, heavy construction, demolition, mining and landscaping.
Massey Ferguson rolls out 4700 series utility tractors
Massey Ferguson, a brand of AGCO Corp., introduced producers to the all-new 4700 series heavy-duty utility tractors during the 2016 National Farm Machinery Show. The 4700 series tractors are designed with the weight, power, durability and lift capacity to manage heavier, larger implements, draft work and other tough, demanding jobs.
Three introductory models of this Tier 4 Final series are the 4708 (80 horsepower), 4709 (90 horsepower) and 4710 (100 horsepower) open-station, 2WD and 4WD configurations. The 4700 Classic was developed for stability, versatility and operator comfort, offering a standard eight by eight or 12 by 12 synchro-shuttle transmission. All deluxe edition models are equipped with a 12 by 12 power-shuttle transmission, plus other features to increase productivity. Cab models will be introduced soon. These tractors will be manufactured in AGCO’s factory in Changzhou, China.
For hay work, the tractors were designed to match perfectly with Massey Ferguson and Hesston hay equipment, and they are equipped to operate bigger balers and mower conditioners or move larger hay bales compared to other tractors in this class. The radial tires absorb bumps, and a spring suspension seat helps deliver ride comfort for less operator fatigue during long days in the seat disc mowing, tedding, raking, baling and hauling.
New John Deere skid steers and compact track loader
John Deere is introducing four Final Tier 4 G-Series skid steers (312GR, 314G, 316GR, 318G) and one compact track loader (317G). The machines feature an improvement in horsepower-to-weight ratios and an optimized boom design that enables lift heights over 10 feet on the vertical lift models and a 20 percent increase in breakout forces on the radial lift models.
The radial lift option used on the 312GR (51 horsepower) and 316GR (61 horsepower) offers an exclusive one-person boom lockout system for safety that can be activated from within the cab. The lift system is designed for lower maintenance and optimal digging performance, and is ideal when more reach is needed at midrange lift heights – such as dumping over a foundation wall, backfilling or loading a flatbed trailer. These machines are also ideal for work in small areas or indoor operations.
The 316GR, 318G and 317G offer 24 percent more engine power, and all G-Series machines provide 11 percent additional fuel capacity over previous models for daylong productivity and uptime. A durable, high-performance Yanmar Final Tier 4 engine and hydraulic powertrain provide maximum pushing power and boom and bucket productivity. The optimized power-to-weight ratio also helps deliver more usable power, resulting in faster cycle times on the job site. FG
