In a recent online poll, Progressive Forage Grower asked, “How far away is the most distant field you farm?”

Only about 8 percent said that they traveled more than 40 miles to get to their most distant field.

Another 15.5 percent said that their furthest field is 21 to 40 miles away. Thirty-four percent of readers said that the furthest field they farmed was only 6 to 20 miles out of their way.

The majority, with 42.7 percent, said that their furthest field was less than 5 miles away.  FG
