The 2014 fall soil-sampling time frame disappeared quickly for Midwest growers and agronomists as the onset of winter freeze arrived mid-November. In response, the company sought to find a way to extend this season. This new soil-sampling tool will do just that.
“It allows us to offer our customers more time to fulfill their growers’ soil analysis needs for nutrient management compliance," explains Scott Fleming, the company’s soil-sampling coordinator and nutrient management specialist.
This tool will also assist agriculture retailers as they are able to gather a better estimate of the 2015 fertilizer demand with more growers planning for next year with the help of their late 2014 soil data. The soil-sampling timeline can be a limiting factor for some retailers, and extending the season also offers an opportunity for an extended window of agronomic sales activity.
“The company works very hard to keep a steady pulse on the industry to understand the challenges our customers and their customers are facing,” says Zac Meyer, the company’s director of operations. “As challenges are identified, we look to find ways to solve these challenges – in this case a shortened soil-sampling season – and continue to strive to better serve our customers and utilize our innovation opportunities to introduce new technology.”
